ScaleXtreme Debuts iPhone App To Let IT Admins Manage Knowledge Centers On The Go

Enterprise-Scale Xtreme Companies, which offers cloud-based server for information middle automation products, an iPhone app today. Scale Xtreme is fundamentally for the iPhone, IT administrators an on-the-go with regard to their physical servers, virtual machines and public cloud instances.

As we have written historicallyin the past, Scale Xtreme offers a simple, information middle automation SaaS. The automation platform permits companies to build and manage physical, virtual and cloud servers public. The company has touched $ 13.5 million from Accel and others.

The iPhone app has lots of the same functionality as the monitoring of cloud-based product. The app itself gives IT administrators the ability to server performance and job alerts to monitor. The app will keep track of all of your IT resources and helps you to manage them effectively. Fundamentally the app, which is designed as a companion to the net application receives from IT administrators to access server systems anywhere, anytime, which Mulchandani says, is a weak point for IT professionals.

Nand Mulchandani A co-founder says: "Mobility is will be a central part of any modern IT operations, and the mobile experience to be an important part of our product in the future."

Latest iPad

It's kind of funny that the only big thing that, under the false rumor of the business name was the new iPad. It is not the previously assumed "iPad 3", nor is it the "iPad HD". It is only the iPad. And that's what it will be from now on.

This was surprising, because our expectations were placed on a new name. But it really should not be too surprising. My iMac is not the "iMac 11". My MacBook Air is not the "MacBook Air 4". The iPod line changes, but the name remains the same. This will undoubtedly happen to the iPhone line as well. Just as the spec is dying (more than partially opened to the grave by Apple), is dying to the rising number of naming race. It is about simplicity.

Apple can pull this off, because they have so few products and they are in complete control of all of them. The software is not licensed to other OEMs. The iPad does not have the name "iPad 3x HD S", only to hit the "iPad 3X Turbo" to a competitor. There are no real competitors. At least not yet. The naked "iPad" name alone is enough to win.

Enough about the name. The real key to today's event was a topic of Apple to go on strike over and over again for the foreseeable future: the 'post-PC revolution. " These were among the first words of Tim Cook's mouth when he entered the stage today. Yes, there is a theme that began with Steve Jobs, Apple's last quarter, but after mad (the first of Cook as permanent CEO), it has never been so clear that Apple has developed far beyond a pure PC company. Still make. But they are a splinter of the company.

Overall, Apple has 315 million "post-PC" devices (read IOS devices) sold. Last year alone, Apple sold 172 million of them. And the last quarter alone, they sold 62 million, because they result from 76 percent of Apple sales. The post-PC segment is now the centerpiece of the company. And the movement is accelerating. "Apple has its feet firmly planted in the post-PC future," said Koch.
Right now, the iPhone is king of the Post-PC world. But Cook and others at Apple have had no reluctance in predicting that the iPad business could be even larger one day. Something Cook said on stage today reiterates that stance. “We think the iPad is the poster child of the Post-PC world.” The iPad. Not the iPhone.

Cook then put up his stunning graph. The iPad sold 15.4 million units last quarter. That was more than any PC manufacturer sold of their entire PC line worldwide. HP sold 15.1 million PCs. Lenovo sold 13 million PCs. Dell sold 11.9 million PCs. Acer sold 9.8 million PCs. A year from now, don’t be surprised if this gap is significantly wider.

“Apples to oranges! Apples to oranges!” I hear you. But you’re wrong. Apples to Apple. Stats like this do matter because they show where we’re headed. It’s not necessarily that the iPad is beating the PC, it’s that iPad beat the PC in under two years of existence. This drives PC people batty, but the numbers don’t lie. PC sales have peaked. In many cases, they’re going the wrong way. The iPad is just getting started.

What’s more likely — 5 years from now, your primary home computing device is a PC? Or 5 years from now, your primary home computing device is a tablet? Just two years ago, this question would have been an absolute joke. Now it’s a joke to think it will take a full five years.

There’s strong push-back to this idea because people generally don’t like change. It’s hard to understand. We take comfort in the familiar. It’s hard to think about and write about the future because it’s always unknown. The risk of being wrong is great. But here the writing is very clearly on the wall.

“We set out not just to create a new product, but a new category,” Cook said of the iPad. And they did. But a few years from now, it could very well be the case that the PC gets lumped into this very category as a small portion of the market.

Apple doesn’t want the iPad to be put into the PC category because it’s limited and decaying. The PC people don’t want the iPad to be put into their category because it makes them look even worse. But again, 5 years from now, which will be your main personal computing device? That’s all that matters.

iRoom iDock is the world's first motorized in-wall dock iPad

We've seen iPad docks that mount an iPad on a wall, on a car dashboard and on a fridge, but the iRoom iDock is the first we've come across that mounts an iPad in the wall. Featuring a motorized docking system that automatically opens and closes thanks to a proximity sensor, the iRoom iDock is flush-mounted to the wall, which means you'll need the services of an electrician to connect the unit to your home's electrical system. The motorized dock can be triggered by a proximity sensor that detects when you're nearby so it automatically opens up ready for iPad insertion or removal. The door will close automatically after ten seconds and if you don't like the idea of the unit constantly opening and closing as you pass the proximity sensor can be disabled. Once your iPad is snugly inside, the iDock will charge its battery, while integrated composite audio inputs allow it to be hooked up to a sound system and the iPad used as an audio source. In the event of a power failure, the iDock will automatically open so the iPad isn't trapped inside.

The iRoom iDock comes in landscape and portrait models and, in addition to the standard black, white and brushed aluminum options, the color of the bezel can be customized to match your décor. The portrait iDock is compatible with iPad 1 and, with the use of a tailored insert, iPad 2, while the landscape iDock is designed for iPad 2 but will accommodate an iPad 1 through the use of guide rails.

iRoom doesn't list a recommended retail price for the iDock on its website, nor does the North American distributor Bracketron. But we found the unit selling in the U.K for GBP714 (approx. US$1,116), which doesn't include the cost of installation. Probably a bit on the steep side if you're just looking to charge your iPad, but possibly not beyond the realms of possibility if the iPad is acting as the control interface for a home control system - possibly.

This video shows the dock's mechanism in action:
